We found out last night that little Alli had to have a blood transfusion yesterday (read the rest of Alli’s story here). It had been mentioned Saturday that it was a possibility, but when Richard and Janna walked in on Sunday, Alli was right in the middle of the procedure. And as you can imagine thats not the way you wanna start off your Sunday. There have been a few other complications, so at this point its touch-n-go from day to day. But we are believing that this little girl is a fighter, and that God has her right where he wants her. Thank you for your prayers, I hope you’ll continue to stand with us.

Baby Alli is still doing really well (read the backstory here). She is a fighter! Beck and I went up to Birmingham earlier in the week to see them and I was able to snap a few pics. There are more here.

First off let me just say thanks to everyone who has prayed for baby Alli. If you have no idea what the heck I’m talking about, read the original post here.

Little Alli is doing great, only minor problems, most of which are normal considering she is 12 weeks early. Right now she is weighing in at a whopping 1 lb. and 10 oz, and she’s having a little trouble digesting her food. Yesterday was the first time Janna has been able to hold her, I can’t imagine how it feels to have to wait several days before holding your new baby. Thats gotta be insanely tough. I only had to wait about 20 seconds to hold Bella and that was too long.
Please continue praying for little Alli, Janna & Richard. They’ve still got a long way to go. Thanks.

I’d love to think that I was her number 1 crush, but that may be wishful thinking. She’s got some pretty serious crushing going on for Mr. Lenny Kravitz. But I’m ok with it because, number 1, I snagged her first (sucka), and 2nd I’ve got a little somethin’ for Angelina Jolie so it balances out quite nicely. Needless to say, we’re big Lenny Kravitz fans around our house, luckily I like him a lot too. So for Valentines this year I got her his newest album (how great a husband am I uh) and there were some surprises on it. Check out the lyrics from the title track ‘Love Revolution.’
This is the time, This is the vibe
Don’t you want to get onto the ride
Come on inside, From the outside
The truth will set you free and you will find
That there is a love
That won’t let you down
And it always holds ground
Wear your crown
This love will never leave you
This love will never let you go
It is time for a love revolution
It is time for a new constitution
You are a child of the most high
There’s nothing you can’t do and that’s no lie
You were designed to use your mind
To move what you can’t see so don’t be blind
‘Cause there is a love
That won’t let you down and it always holds ground
Wear your crown
This love will never leave you
This love will never let you go
It is time for a love revolution
It is time, it is time, for a new constitution

We went back down to the condo in Orange Beach for a few days last week with Shannon and fam, we had a great time, it just wasn’t long enough. As you can see we got a caricature of Bella done, I think its pretty darn cute.
Being down there reminded me that I still hadn’t posted our pictures from the last time we were there, which was over a month ago. So I thought today was as good a day as any.
There are a few below, the rest you can check out here.

I officially got my man-card last Friday. I’m now the proud owner of a grill. Beck got me my Fathers Day present a little early. Apparently I’m not man enough to get a charcoal one, but I thought I needed training wheels first so I went with gas. So far so good. I grilled burgers Friday with Shannon and his girls, but tonight we took it to a whole ‘notha level… Rosemary Salmon with Lemon. It was extremely easy (obviously since I was able to do it), and it was awesomely scrupcilious. So good in fact, I thought I’d share the recipe.
The Goods:
4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon minced fresh rosemary leaves
8 lemon slices (about 2 lemons)
1/4 cup lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
1/2 cup marsala wine
4 teaspoons capers
The Directions:
Brush the top and bottom of the fillets with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and rosemary. Put each piece of the salmon on a piece of foil large enough to fold over and seal. Top each fillet with 2 lemon slices, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of wine, and 1 teaspoon of capers. Wrap it all up tight in the foil and throw it on the grill at about 400º for 10 minutes.
Boom your done. Its that easy.
There you have it, give it a whirl and let me know what you think.
Oh yea, I think my man-card was revoked tonight, I tweeted a confession…

So I guess the man-card was short lived. Doh!
