As any other creative, I’m always looking for inspiration. And you know as well as I do, sometimes it comes in the strangest forms. But one thing is for sure, we are always looking for it, something that will inspire us to dream and create. Tonight I came across a goody that I wanted to pass along. It’s a site called Creattica (crazy awesome title), it’s an amazing gallery of “great design and inspirational imagery.” They also have a Creattica Daily that features tons of news and links for creatives and designers just waiting to inspire. Check it, hopefully you’ll be inspired as well.
Two weeks ago, 65 of our Icon students went to Honduras on a missions trip. They ministered in orphanages, prisons/juvenile detention facilities, the city dump (where hundreds of kids live), and the bordo (which is one of the poorest areas in the hemisphere). They also held two concerts where over 15,000 students showed up to hear the gospel. Will put together this killer video that sums up the trip.
I’m a huge fan of stop motion work, and this is one of the coolest ones I’ve ever seen. The fact that it’s simply post-it notes is so rad. Alright, enough of me already, watch:
In combination with that, the great @loswhit made a statement today on Twitter that has haunted the crap out of me all day, he saith:
So when was the last time you created for you? For God? For the heck of it? For the sake of being a true artist not an employee. I’ve been challenged, I hope you have too.
In case you’re interested, make the jump and you can see the making-of for the ‘Deadline’ post-it note video… pretty rad as well. (more…)
I’ve been looking forward to this movie for a long time, its seen quite a few snags along the way, but its finally coming to a theater near you and me.
‘Where the Wild Things Are‘ is probably my favorite childrens book of all time, and I’m so excited that Spike Jonze is the man bringing it to the big screen.
The first trailer has finally debuted and it looks amazing, I like what Cinematical said, “it intensifies the film’s fantastical elements and makes the thing look so wondrous. The Wild Things look great and real and not CGI — I have a feeling that this is the sort of film that will feel 20 years old, but look brand new.”
